Essendon AFL Drug Saga

6. CAROLINE WILSON 4 APRIL 2015

  1. I don’t care that you have no self-respect. I do care that you have no respect for your profession. It is beyond my comprehension that you have stood back and allowed the profession to be trashed.

  2. I want to scream every time I hear a journalist wax lyrical about how important the fourth estate is to democracy. It’s one thing for the media to operate as a branch office for the AFL but surely it is demeaning and unacceptable to act as a branch office for ASADA!

  3. ASADA’s acts of sheer bastardry in charging 34 players have been allowed to go through to the keeper without comment. As I have been saying for over 12 months, ASADA’s task was easy to understand. It had to prove Thymosin was a generic name for Thymosin Beta-4; it had to prove Thymosin Beta-4 was supplied to Essendon; and it had to prove Dank administered Thymosin Beta-4 to each player.

  4. As there was no record of either Stephen Dank or Essendon ever receiving Thymosin of any description, it was impossible to mount a case against the 34 players. The only reasons for doing so could be total incompetence, sheer bastardry or someone calling the shots whose ego was far higher than his IQ.

  5. Surely, you were bright enough to see this. And surely there must have been one or two of you who understood the insurmountable obstacle and then had the courage to write it.

  6. I understand, but don’t condone the thought of losing accreditation with the AFL may cause the backbone to weaken but I can’t understand why you are protecting ASADA.

  7. The chances of any of you guys attacking ASADA CEO Ben McDevitt are only marginally higher than the cream-puff Essendon board fighting back. It’s ironic that the board is the first to whinge when the players don’t fight back when they are being belted in a match. And yet, it has just laid down and taken whack after whack from the AFL, the media and ASADA.
